Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) or Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a major clinical problem and one of the most common causes of death globally. IHD can induce myocardial infarction (heart attack) and post-MI remodeling, altering the structure of the myocardium and reducing cardiac function. Therefore, precise localization and evaluation of diseased regions is vital for targeted therapies and disease management. Utilizing 3D + time echocardiography, a cheap and risk-free imaging modality, I am developing novel, automated methods for extracting useful parameters of cardiac function for detection of myocardial ischemia.
