My name is Matt Herdiech. I graduated from Greenfield High School in Greenfield, MA in 2004. I graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2008. I came to Yale in August of the same year. Since arriving at Yale, I have worked under the supervision of Professor Eric Altman. The title of my project is "Modification of Ferroelectric Surfaces for Switchable Catalysis".

I try to save all of my free time for the winter and early spring, as I am an avid downhill skiier. As such, I try to make as many winter weekend trips to northern Vermont as my schedule allows. I also enjoy hiking in the White Mountains in New Hampshire in the summer and fall. Originally from Massachusetts, I am a huge fan of Boston sports teams, especially the Sox and Pats.
